Lovely Voice – FAQ (Frequently asked questions)

For a great deal of people using the services of a voice of a professional performing voice artist is a “first”, but with more and more companies wanting narration to feature on their websites to make their service or product seem more desirable or a professional IVR in order not to lose that potential customer, professional voice over services are more in demand than ever.

I get asked all kinds of different questions posed to me so here’s a selection of frequently asked questions and if I haven’t covered something you want to know, then drop me a line at jennie@lovelyvoice.com!

Question: I need a recording and don’t know where to start. What do you need from me?

Answer: If you don’t have a script but have a concept then I can write the script for you that I will record subject to your final approval. Even if you do have a script I will want to know the following from you:

  • The essence of the message you wish to convey. That will determine the tonality, pace and inflection I convey on your recording
  • In what format you would like your files to be delivered (mp3/.wav)
  • Pronunciation of non-obvious words/names.  There is nothing worse than mispronunciation of a word or name and it’s my job to ensure I am 100% accurate.
  • How you will be using your recording (Web, TV, Radio, Voicemail, etc)

Question: I want to create a video with voice over. What should complete first the video or the voice over?

Answer: I would always recommend voice over first followed by the creation of the video as it is easier to work the video around the voice. Having said that, if you have an existing video I can make the voice fit for you with precision timing and can also dub an existing video which I have done on numerous occasions.

Question: Do you supply music and sound effects?

Answer: Yes I can supply both sound effects and I do have royalty free music available. I can blend voice and music perfectly and if required add it to your existing video so the timing is perfect.

Question: The project I have is highly confidential and it’s important to keep it that way.

Answer: I am always happy to sign an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) which I strictly adhere to. A great many of my clients use my services because they know they can rely on my confidentiality.

Question: How do I pay for a recording you make for me?

Answer: PayPal is the simplest, most effective way to pay for your recording. Payment must be made at the time of your order and if, for any reason you were dissatisfied with your final recording (after revisions etc.) then I am happy to grant you a full refund.

Question: I’m in a different country to you with a big time difference. How can we make this work?

Answer: Lovely Voice is pretty much a 24/7 365(6) day a year business. When you award me a project, wherever you are in the world, I’ll ensure the completed recording is returned to you at the time you need it, not the time that suits me.
